The Portland Powercats held a watch party for the Auburn game on Sept 1. There was a great turnout of about 30 K-State Fans. The Cats lost the game, but I think a fun time was had by all.
Looking forward to our first Watch Party of the season at Life of Riley Tavern to watch the Wildcats square off against the Auburn Tigers on Sept 1st. More info to come later. I will be sending everyone a Google Calender evite, this is a much more efficient manner for me to gather headcounts, please RSVP via the evite, thanks.
T-Shirts should be ready for pick-up at the first watch party if all goes as planned. Thank you to everyone who got their order in, there was a total of 40+ shirts ordered, many more than the initial interest. Special thanks to Jamie Oder and Weylan Bosse for all of their help with the design.
We are going to start a drawing for football season. Overall winner will receive a $50 Cats Closet Gift Certificate. You will get one entry for each event you attend. Here are some other things that have been going on in Wildcat Land:
KSU Basketball finalizes 2007-08 schedule The 2007-08 schedule is highlighted by 12 national television appearances, an appearance in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden and the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, FL. A full copy of the schedule can be found at this link: http://www.kstatesports.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=400&KEY=&SPID=213&SPSID=3086 Basketball Team adds another recruit for 2007 Ron Anderson (The McCallie School), has joined the wildcat basketball team. He is a 6'8 forward, and recieved multiple state and AAU recognition and awards. Anderson was rated a 3-star recruit by Rivals and should be a great addition to what most services rated a top 3 recruiting class. More info can be found at http://www.kstatesports.com/
I wanted to announce our new home for watch parties: Life of Riley Tavern. It is located at 300 NW 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97209. It is located at the corner of NW 10th and Everett in the Pearl District. I'm hoping the central location will work out for everyone. We had a trial run for the NIT games and it seemed to work out well.
