Portland Powercats Club
Please join me in offering congratulations to Jerry & Mary Bray who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Thank you to Dale, Gretchen & Jamie for getting me pictures from the last few watch parties. If you have any pictures that you would like to add to the group page, let me know and we'll figure out a way to get them uploaded.

Congratulations to Beth & Amanda who won the drawing at the last two watch parties. Remember, each event you attend gets you more chances for the year end prize of a $100 K-State Merchandise gift certificate.

We have almost sold out of T-shirts and I will be placing another order soon if there is enough interest. Let me know if you don't have a T-shirt and would like one, there are a few left in various sizes. There has been some interest expressed in getting hooded sweatshirts as well. Let me know if you are interested in a sweatshirt and I will get some pricing information soon.

If you have any news or information you would like shared with the group, send me an email and I'll include it in the next update.

This week the Cats travel to Ames to take on the 1-8 Iowa St Cyclones. We will be getting together for a Watch Party at Life of Riley Tavern. The game can be seen on Versus or can be heard on the web at Yahoo radio or on Sirius Satellite Radio Ch 121.

The game Nov 10 vs Nebraska will be televised on the Versus Network. We will be meeting at Life of Riley to watch the game. You should receive your evite soon. It looks like the game vs Missouri should be televised as well, I will get the gametime to everyone as soon as I get it.

Men's Basketball
New Head Coach Frank Martin and the Wildcat Men's Basketball team kick off their season with an exhibition game on Feb 3 vs Fort Hays State at 3 pm. It will be webcast on Powercat Passport at www.kstatesports.com.

The Cats were ranked #26 in the initial USA TODAY coaches poll and picked 4th in the Big XII by league coaches. This should be an exciting season with seven lettermen returning off a NIT invitation and a 10-6 Big XII record. The returning players will be joined by Preseason Freshmen of the Year Michael Beasley and Preseason Honorable mention Bill Walker will be returning from injury. The rest of the newcomers helped make up a recruiting class that was ranked in the Top 3 by most services.

We will be meeting for a number of Basketball Watch Parties. I have included a tentative list on the blog page. If you are interested in getting together for any additional basketball games, let me know and I will get something set up.
